Scott Karren is a recognized expert in the marketing and sale of high technology products. He has managed ground-breaking projects which have launched scores of channels, products, divisions and even companies.

Mr. Karren is a frequent speaker and contributor for industry trade organizations and publishers such as SoftBank/Comdex, CompTIA, MMTA, CRN, VARBusiness and PCWeek. In addition to researching and writing for numerous channel and industry publications, Scott Karren is also the co-author of The Channel MBA. He has taught strategic sales training courses for many of the industry's leading companies.

Prior to founding Channel Ventures, Mr. Karren was Chairman and CEO of Chinawave Broadcom Corp. He also founded and was president of The Launch Group, a Marcom agency focused on technology industry product launches, and MSI Consulting Group, which, under his leadership, grew into the leading channel consulting company in the United States.

He has tackled launch and channel issues for leading companies in the United States, Europe and Asia. Mr. Karren is a graduate of Chicago Business School and speaks Mandarin.

Bill Weir

Bill Weir has a long history in marketing, high tech, and entertainment. His focus is on the cutting edge where they all meet.

With a degree in Motion Pictures & Television from UCLA, Bill worked as a screenwriter, producer and director in both Hollywood and Seattle. Working on commercials, marketing videos, music videos, documentaries and independent feature films, he was the winner of the 1994 Seattle Advertising Federation Best Production award.

In 1994 Bill became one of the first Web developers in Seattle. As the first Web developer-UI designer at the iCat Corporation, he helped pioneer electronic commerce. He taught the first web class at the University of Washington, and worked with many companies on internet initiatives, including Sierra Online, Costco, Hewlett-Packard, Shell Oil, Homegrocer.com, CVS.com, Syntara, Wireless Advisers, ViziStream, OrderByte, and most recently consulting with Microsoft and Intel on web marketing strategy.

Bryan Johanson

An adept sales and channel marketing executive, Bryan Johanson has over 17 years experience in high technology sales and marketing. Most recently, as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Enfish Technology Inc., a start-up software company in Pasadena, CA. He has also served as Director of Channel Programs and Services for Novell Inc.

Prior to Novell, Bryan served as Director of Corporate Resellers for WordPerfect Corporation. Bryan remains active in several industry associations and served as Co-Chairman, Software Section of the Computer Technology Industry Association in 1984 and 1985. He has also served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for POWERHiring.com.

Bryan Johanson received a Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Music.

Mike Sapien

Mike Sapien has been a leader in marketing and channel development for the network and datacom industry for over 22 years. He has worked with many of the large and regional carriers in the marketplace including RBOCs, LECs, CLECs as well as their strategic hardware vendors, software houses and suppliers. He has introduced many of the new data business services during this time and stays ahead of the new evolving technology and market trends to create and develop the new markets and channels required for successful distribution of these services.

His clients have included carriers, hardware, software and service suppliers in introducing new technology or services in Ôcrossing the chasmÕ with various marketing, sales and channel tactics. He has also acquired a strong working knowledge of the Ôbuy and sellÕ side of these telecom and related business services for both wholesale and retail environments.

Mike is a published author (Mastering ISDN, Sybex 1997) and is quoted in Network World. He has a BBA Marketing & MBA from Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles). He is currently on the LMU Alumni Board of Directors.

Elliot Levine

Elliot is the founder and managing partner of The Sales Factor. Prior to starting The Sales Factor, Elliot served as president and CEO of Savoir Technology. Based in Silicon Valley, Savoir was a leading, publicly held, supplier of mid-range UNIX-based systems. Before joining Savoir, Elliot spent three and a half years as president and COO of Softmart, Inc. a global reseller of computer products to the Fortune 1,000 and government market places.

He has held a variety of other executive sales and marketing position including vice-president and general manager of ENSONIQ's multimedia division, and vice-president of sales for Merisel, Inc. a global provider of PC hardware and software where he managed three of the company's five divisions.
